‘It Follows’ - Pitch

Context Paragraph

This is my pitch, a pitch is basically an introduction to what the film will be about, what type of film it will be, and what audience it will be aimed at, it also links into a few scene that will be shot within the film so it gives the viewers a small taster into what they will be getting themselves into. 

Overall, the pitch is just an explanation of the film to grab potential viewers and to also persuade companies to invest into your film  to give the producer a boost.

Introduction

A masked mysterious figure follows a young adult, trying to get to them as it seems as though they want something from them, will they take their soul or will they just scare them? This is a short horror/thriller film that will keep you on your toes.

My aims

I’m aiming to produce a short horror film, aimed to young adults, that creates shock within the viewers minds as I will aim to make it feel as  though the viewers are the ones being followed as I will use certain camera shots, such as a point of view shots, that will scare the viewer putting them in the position of looking through the protagonists eyes. The Killer will haunt the main character throughout the film therefore, messing with their head and causing them to become crazy. A lonesome teenage boy battles with a demon during night time as, he’s asleep it gets closer and closer.

Short Explanation On a Certain scene

There will be an intense scene where the protagonist is driving home in car, the camera is then placed in middle back seat filming driver {smooth transitions} on his way home. During the drive he looks in the in the rear view mirror he sees something standing in front of the car then moments later they are in the rear view mirror in the back of the car [thriller scene] This scene will have static music of a heartbeat making the viewer expect something to happen and will be edited in a way for the viewers to be put in a waiting game for the viewer I personally feel as though my idea of a horror film will catch eyes of the public, as already I have created multiple scene scenarios and ideas in my head that have been gained through watching various horror movies that did well of creating fear within their viewers. I can provide solutions to coming up with potential filming scenes for a horror movie as I have gained ideas throughout many other horror films that have caught my eye.
